Davido Signs May D To His Record Label, DMW

DMW boss, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has signed Akinmayokun Awodumila, known professionally as May D, to his record label.
May D, the ‘Ibad’i crooner, broke the news on his Twitter page on Saturday, sharing a photo of the brand logo.
He wrote: “My New Family, I’m So Excited ! PROBLEM #DMW #30BG #CONFAMENT.”
The singer, who had been absent from the music scene for a while, resurfaced recently, accusing defunct music duo, Psquare, of maltreatment while he was with them.
May D in a live chat on Instagram in May this year, said Psquare never believed he could make waves as a musician in the industry, and as a result, were only willing to help him with their platform without a contract involved.
He said when he rose to fame, the music duo suddenly wanted a contract with him, and started pushing aggressively for a label deal, which did not sit well with him.
“I had a couple of deals with Akon in America, they knew about it and didn’t want me to pull out with those deals. At the end of the day, everything went down the hill then,” May D added.
In 2012, after a well-publicised musical union that barely lasted a year, Psquare’s label announced a separation from May D.
Since then, the singer can be said to have gone off the radar.
