Buhari Meets Security Chiefs, Reiterates Commitment To Secure Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has met with the service chiefs and heads of security agencies in the country to reassess the security situation in the country.
The meeting held at the council chambers of the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Thursday.
Speaking to State House correspondents after the meeting, Babagana Monguno, the National Security Adviser, stated that the security challenges across the nation, especially regarding the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, were reviewed.
He added that President Buhari reiterated his commitment to securing the lives and properties of all persons residing in the country.
The meeting had in attendance Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Boss Mustapha, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), and heads of various security agencies.
The services chiefs were led to the State House by General Abayomi Olonisakin, the Chief of Defence Staff.
Also present were Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, the Chief of Air Staff; Ibok Ekwe Ibas, the Chief of Naval Staff; and Lieutenant General Lamidi Adeosun, the Army’s Chief of Policy and Plans, who represented Lieutenant General Tukur Buratai, the Chief of Army Staff.
Others law enforcement agents present include Mohammed Adamu, the Inspector General of Police; and Yusuf Bichi, Director General of the Department of State Services (DSS).
Major General Bashir Magashi (Rtd), Minister of Defence; Abubakar Malami; Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation; and Geoffrey Onyeama, Minister of Foreign Affairs, alongside other ministers also attended the meeting.
