Baba Suwe, Mr Latin Comparison Leads Twitter NG Trends
Comparison between two veteran Yoruba actors, Babatunde Omidina, popularly known as Baba Suwe and Bolaji Amusan, also known as Mr Latin, sparked reactions on Twitter on Tuesday.
While some Nigerians, on Twitter, were of the view that both actors have indeed come a long way in making Yoruba movies a must watch way back, some were of the view that Baba Suwe is much more outstanding than the latter.
Some said the list is incomplete without mentioning the likes of Adewale Elesho, Alabi Yellow, Lukuluku, Baba Sala and the new entrants like Adekola Odunlade, Sanyeri, who are currently holding the Nigeria film industry.
“Both are great but Baba Suwe is more iconic and a way bigger legend,” a Twitter user, @papservedhot, said while countering another commenter who said Baba Latin is funnier.
Another commenter, @Tife_fabunmi was of the view that the two actors are outstanding but Baba Suwe had a way of making humor look real and easy. He went on to say that his expressions are hilarious especially when he’s playing any role with his late wife, Monsurat Omidina.
“If you really watch(ed) yoruba movies you’ll know that these two actors are outstanding but Baba Suwe had a way of making humor look so real & easy. His roles, and expressions, esp. when he’s playing any role with his late wife The “Kin Ma Jedi? Iranu. Abasha” slang creator,” another commenter said.
