Nigerian striker, Victor Boniface’s proposed move from Gernman side, Bayer Leverkusen to Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr has collapsed.

The Super Eagles forward will remain with the Bundesliga champions after Al Nassr opted not to complete the deal.

This was confirmed by football transfer expert, Fabrizio Romano, via his X account on Wednesday night.

Romano wrote: “Victor Boniface and Al Nassr, deal OFF.

“Nigerian striker won’t join the club, deal was advanced… but never done as Al Nassr never gave final green light.”

Al Nassr have decided to sign Jhon Duran from Aston Villa instead.

“Jhon Durán to Al Nassr, here we go! Story from earlier tonight confirmed as documents are being prepared.

“Aston Villa to receive €77m fixed fee plus add-ons, long term deal accepted by Durán.

“Medical booked tomorrow and then he will travel to Saudi right after,” Romano added in a separate tweet.

Boniface’s switch to Al Nassr had appeared all but done after both clubs agreed a €60million fee.

Sky Sports Germany reported that the 24-year-old had already passed his medical and was looking forward to playing with five-time Ballon d’Or winner, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Boniface had also reached full agreement on an annual net wage of €15million.
