Super Eagles To Hit Cotonou Friday For Benin Clash
The Super Eagles of Nigeria will storm Cotonou on Friday for Saturday’s 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture against the Squirrels of Benin Republic.
Players and officials of the three-time African champions will travel by waterways to Cotonou on Friday morning, and will spend the night in the Beninoise capital, Cotonou before moving to Porto Novo on Saturday for the game.
The team will return to Cotonou after the game and travel back to Lagos on Sunday morning.
The Gernot Rohr-led side will take on the Crocodiles of Lesotho in their final game of the qualifiers next week Tuesday at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos.
A total of 23 players are currently in the team’s Eko Hotel camp, and they had their first training session on Tuesday evening at the TBS.
The Eagles lead Group L with eight points-one point ahead of the Squirrels of Benin with two round of games to play.
