Summit University Students Tour Okin FM Studios
Mass communication students from Summit University Offa, Kwara State on Tuesday, 30th January, 2024 embarked on a field trip to Okin 105.7FM , as part of their curriculum requirements in the course ‘Station Management and Operations’.
Led by the course lecturer, Mr. Olufadi, the students were warmly welcomed by Okin FM’s marketing manager, Mrs. Olawumi Popoola Atere who graciously stood in for the General Manager, Alhaji Tajudeen Sanni.
The visit provided a unique opportunity for the students to gain practical insights into the intricacies of managing and operating a radio station.
During the visit, Mrs. Atere engaged the students in an insightful discussion, shedding light on the fundamental aspects of radio station management. Topics ranged from revenue generation, programme scheduling, strategies to audience engagement techniques, and the challenges inherent in the broadcast industry.
Earlier, the course lecturer, Mr. Olufadi stressed the significance of hands-on learning experiences in preparing students in broadcasting, emphasizing the importance of bridging the gap between theory and practice.
Meanwhile, the highlight of the visit was a comprehensive tour of Okin FM’s broadcast media facility which commenced from the live studio, to the engineering department.
