Strive to Fulfill Purpose in Your Careers, Rep. Soji Adetunji Tells Distinct Graduating Students
At the first combined convocation ceremony of Distinct Polytechnic and Distinct Institute of Management and Technology, Ekosin, Osun state, graduating students have been encouraged to be passionate about fulfilling purpose in their chosen careers.
Member, House of Representatives, Odo-Otin/Ifelodun/Boripe Federal Constituency, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji gave the word of admonition today at the Convocation ceremony of the institution.
According to a statement released by his media team, Rep. Soji Adetunji advised the graduands to embrace determination, focus, purpose, and passion as they work toward a fulfilled life.
The lawmaker was represented at the Convocation ceremony by his special aide, Nurudeen Abolaji.
“To the graduates, as I stand here watching you all, I am taken back to the day I sat like you, wondering what the future held for me. Decades ago, it was a mix of excitement, expectation, anticipation, and fear of the unknown. I know many of you are feeling the same emotions.
“Let me share the key values you’ll need as you step into the world: determination, focus, purpose, and passion. Strive to find purpose in your careers and work genuinely to fulfill it. For the ND graduates, internships are essential, as they provide practical knowledge that complements what you learnt in class,” Adetunji advised.
Commending the institution for maintaining high standards among polytechnics in the state and for preparing students to become job creators rather than job seekers, Rep. Adetunji also encouraged graduates to embrace 21st-century skills to remain relevant in today’s highly competitive and crowded job market.
The former Governor of Osun state, Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola was also in attendance.
