The immediate past governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has revealed why he backed Senator Godswill Akapbio to become the 10th National Assembly’s Senate President.
Wike revealed that the former Akwa-Ibom governor donated N200 million to his campaign in 2014 and 2015, maintaining that one good turn deserves another.
The PDP chieftain spoke during his special thanksgiving service organized by his family at the St. Peters Deanery, Rumuepirikom, Obio-Akpor area of the state, on Sunday, June 18.
Wike noted that Akpabiowas there for him when many were criticising his 2015 governorship ambition.
According to the former Rivers Governor: “When I was running in 2014 and 2015 he came out and supported me. He gave me N200m for that election. I supported him this time and I thank God he won”.
