Over Three Hundred Constituents Benefit as Osun Federal Lawmaker Boosts Livelihoods with Fish Farming Training, Cash Grant

Over three hundred participants yesterday benefitted from the fish farming training facilitated by the federal lawmaker representing OdoOtin/Ifelodun/Boripe federal constituency in the House of Representatives, Rep. Olusoji Abidemi Adetunji.
The beneficiaries drawn from the three local government areas were trained at Okuku town hall, Okuku, Odo-Otin local government area of Osun, where all beneficiaries also received cash grant, fingerlings and fish feed.
The training facilitated by the lawmaker was organized by the National Agricultural Development Fund and executed by ARCAD projects LTD.

In his opening remarks, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji appreciated his constituents for their support and optimism in his representation in less than two years as a federal lawmaker.
The member of the House Appropriation Committee who emphasized the importance of fish farming as a sure way to take the country out of the woods of food insecurity also expressed his commitment in facilitating more opportunities to take care of the interest of the people as well as promoting their welfare.
“When elected, I knew I have a mandate to fulfil. It is a privilege, one I do not take for granted. I will continue to express my appreciation to you all for your support and prayers.
“Today, members of my constituency will enjoy the dividends of democracy, another result of my efforts as your representative in Abuja. We have resource persons here who will guide you through the processes of fish breeding, farming, and marketing.
“I urge all beneficiaries to make good use of the knowledge acquired to improve their lives and contribute to the growth of the local economy, especially at a time when we must all work toward ensuring food security as a nation. When you receive your cash grant, invest it wisely to enhance your livelihood,” Rep. Adetunji stated.
Lauding the lawmaker on the training, Speaker, Osun state House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Adewale Olumide Egbedun described as excellent and unprecedented the representation of Rep. Adetunji who chose to be diligent, active and a selfless lawmaker. Hon. Egbedun thanked Rep. Olusoji Adetunji for the initiative, noting that the people at the grassroots were in dire need of such training.
In the same vein, Osun state Commissioner for home affairs, Hon. Aderibigbe Kayode Abdulrasheed (Asendo), praised the lawmaker for giving utmost priority to the welfare of his constituents. He also admonished the beneficiaries to take a good course of the training and manifest the knowledge acquired for proper profit.
Commending Rep. Adetunji, Osun PDP state secretary, Prince Bola Ajao affirmed that Rep. Olusoji Adetunji has left no one in his constituency in doubt on his outstanding performance and the delivery of dividends of democracy to the people.

Meanwhile, responding on behalf of the beneficiaries, Seyi Oluwadiran and Aiyeloja Olusola Richard from Ifelodun and Boripe local government areas respectively, appreciated Rep. Olusoji Adetunji for the initiative, expressing their commitment to applying the knowledge gained in order to be self reliant.
The duo explained how the training had equipped them with practical techniques for sustainable fish farming, which they intend to implement for income generation.
