Ramadan: SOJ Felicitates Muslims, Urges Reflection and Altruism
Federal Lawmaker representing Odo-Otin, Ifelodun, and Boripe areas of Osun state, Hon Soji Adetunji has appealed to Nigerians, especially Muslims, to use the period of Ramadan for reflection on the teachings of the Holy Prophet.
He gave the admonition in his message to felicitate with the Muslim community in Nigeria as they join other faithful across the world to commence the holy month of Ramadan where he reminded Muslims of the spiritual significance of this holy month and the importance of embodying its teachings in both personal conduct and societal interactions.
Popular as SOJ, the lawmaker urged Muslims to embrace the values of love and peace advocated by Prophet Muhammad(SAW), and to embody these virtues in their daily lives. He emphasized that Ramadan is a time for spiritual perseverance, temperance, and deep connection with Allah.
The statement partly reads, “As Muslims embark on this journey of fasting and prayer, it is crucial that we renew our commitment to the teachings of Islam. Let us use this period to not only strengthen our relationship with Allah but also to foster unity and compassion within our communities.”
While highlighting the significance of supporting those in need and spreading kindness and generosity in our immediate community, he called upon well-meaning Nigerians to remember the less privileged during Ramadan, emphasizing the importance of altruism and charity.
