PHOTOS: Tinubu, Shettima others Celebrate As INEC Declares Presidential Election Winner
The candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, has been declared the winner of the 2023 presidential election in Nigeria.
Tinubu won the election by polling 8,805,655 votes to defeat his closest rival, Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party who polled 6,984,520.
Peter Obi of the Labour Party polled 6,098,588 votes while Rabiu Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party polled 1,496,687 votes.
The total number of votes polled by other parties is 666,298.
This was announced by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, on Wednesday.
Tinubu will henceforth be refered to as the President-Elect. He will succeed President Muhammadu Buhari on May 29.
