Osun Rep Member Renovates Ayekale Health Post, Hands Over Facility to Community
…supplies essential drugs and medical consumables
In a bid to provide health care services to the rural community and improve the life expectancy of his constituents, member, house of representatives, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji today commissioned a newly renovated health post in Ayekale, Boripe local government area of Osun state.
The renovation according comes three months after the Initiative for Environmental Health Development (IF EHD), a non-governmental organization led by Dr. Ogunbamiwo Femi, drew the lawmaker’s attention to the dilapidated state of the health facility.
This was revealed in a statement signed by his media assistant, Oluwasegun Taiwo.
During a site visit following the NGO’s appeal, Rep. Adetunji assessed the dire condition of the health post, prompting immediate action to restore and upgrade the facility.
Speaking at the commissioning event, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji, who was represented by Alhaja Abosede Lawal, highlighted the lawmaker’s commitment to improving healthcare and prioritizing the welfare of his constituents.
“Our able MHR, Hon. Soji Adetunji is proactive in addressing the health and well-being of the residents in his constituency. This project demonstrates his dedication to impactful representation which we have not witnessed in the history of this federal constituency,” she said.
Meanwhile, the coordinator of Initiative for Environmental Health Development, an NGO Dr. Ogunbamiwo Femi while speaking lauded Rep. Olusoji Adetunji for his swift response, noting that such leadership contrasts with the neglect shown by many political officeholders.
“For years, this facility was abandoned, depriving residents of critical healthcare services. We thought it would be same story when we approached him. Surprisingly, Hon. Adetunji’s intervention has changed the narrative. This health post I can assure will now be beneficial to the residents and neighbouring communities by providing good health services,” Ogunbamiwo remarked.
At the event, the renovated health post was officially handed over to the NGO, which in turn transferred the facility to the community. Rep. Olusoji Adetunji also supplied essential drugs and medical consumables to support the operations of the health post.
A community leader, Chief Adebisi Adewole, speaking on behalf of Ayekale residents, expressed profound gratitude to the lawmaker, noting that in a short period, Rep. Adetunji has initiated transformative projects which have improved lives across the constituency.
The commissioning event also featured free medical screenings for residents.
