Ojudu Needs Mental Examination – Sunday Igboho
Sunday Igboho, the man at the centre of the bid to flush criminal herdsmen out of the Southwest, has said Senator Babafemi Ojudu, Special Adviser to President Muhammadu Buhari, needs mental examination.
Igboho, in an interview with the BBC Yoruba on Tuesday, said he has never met the presidential aide who, on Monday, claimed on Facebook that he once took him to receive a bribe from Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Ojudu, in the viral Facebook post, claimed that he arranged for Igboho to meet Tinubu, who induced the activist with money not to work against the defunct Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) in the 2009 governorship re-run in Ekiti State.
Igboho claimed to have worked with only two politicians, the late Lam Adesina and Senator Rasheed Ladoja, both former governors of Oyo State, and never worked with Tinubu.
“Tinubu is alive. You can go and ask him if I ever worked with him. I’ve never met Ojudu. He is a liar. He mentioned Adedibu, who died in 2008, while the election took place in 2009. What is he talking about? If he’s sure of what he is saying, let him swear with his children. It is as simple as that,” he said.
Igboho also dismissed speculations that he has been offered the position of commandant of Amotekun, the security outfit raised by governors of Southwest states.
“I’m not interested in any political appointment. I don’t need anybody’s money. All I want is that criminal herdsmen should leave Yorubaland, so that our people can have peace,” he said.
On his house that was set ablaze early on Tuesday morning, Igboho said he believes that the arsonists were assisted by traitorous Yoruba elements.
He wondered why the arsonists, whom he branded cowards, did not go to his current residence but chose his former one.
“Why did they not go to where I live if they are not cowards. They should have gone there if they had the heart,” he said.
