No plan to hike fuel pump price – NNPCL clears air
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation Limited (NNPCL) has debunked reports making the round that an upward review of petrol pump prices nationwide in imminent.
NNPC Limited cleared the air in a statement on Monday, August 14.
The Company’s reaction is coming amid speculations that another upward review of fuel pump prices is coming, raising concerns among Nigerians.
Epiczone.ng gathered that the report made the President of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) Joe Ajaero, threaten to embark on another strike action without issuing a notice if the fuel pump price increases.
The NNPCL statement reads in part:
“Dear esteemed customers, we at NNPC Retail value your patronage and do not intend to increase our PMS pump prices as widely speculated. Please buy the best quality products at the most affordable prices at our NNPC Retail Stations nationwide”, the Company wrote.
Recall that the Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria said that as long as Dollar continues to rise in the foreign exchange market, an upward increment of fuel prices would be imminent.
Last month, fuel marketers hiked fuel pump prices to over N600/per litre.
