NCDC Confirms 15 Dead As Nigeria’s COVID-19 Toll Exceeds 30,000
Nigeria on Wednesday achieved a grim record as over 30,000 persons have now been infected with the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
This was disclosed by the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) disclosed this in a post on its Twitter handle.
According to the agency, 460 new cases of the virus was confirmed in 20 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on Wednesday.
The centre said 150 of the cases were recorded in Lagos State, 49 in Rivers State, 43 in Oyo State, 38 in Delta State, 26 in the FCT, 20 each in Anambra and Kano states, 18 in Plateau State, 14 in Edo State and 13 in Bayelsa and Enugu states respectively.
Osun State recorded 12 new cases, 10 in Kwara State, eight in Borno State, seven in Ogun State, six in Kaduna State, four in Imo State, three each in Bauchi and Gombe states, two in Niger State and one in Nasarawa State.
Fifteen new deaths were also reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths to 684.
These latest cases bring the number of confirmed coronavirus cases in Nigeria to 30,249, with the virus spreading to all 36 states and the FCT.
