Mesut Ozil Set For Fenerbache Move
Mesut Özil is on the verge of completing a transfer deal with Turkish side Fenerbache after Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal gives him no way back.
According to reports in Turkey, the retired German international Mesut Ozil is in ‘advanced talk’ with Fenerbache. Özil has been out of favour at Arsenal and has not played for the club this season.
Yet, he earns the highest wages at the London club(about $480,000). There has not been any clear explanation as to why Arsenal refuses to feature Özil in games. Some football theories suggests that Özil’s omission from the squad is related to his criticism of the treatment of Uyghur Muslims in China; a statement that Arsenal publicly distanced themselves from.
However, there are also others that believe that the player is simply not giving enough in training. Özil himself has said that while he is deeply disappointed, he will continue fighting for [his] chance. It seems the time to fight is over now.

To further fuel rumours of his impending departure for Fenerbache, Mesut Ozil tweeted about his time in Turkey. He wrote:

Additionally, the midfielder has close ties with Turkey. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan was Özil’s best man at his wedding in Turkey in 2019. It is unlikely that Fenerbache will offer Özil the same salary that he currently earns at Arsenal.
However, he will get enough playing time than he is currently getting at Arsenal.
