Mason Greenwood suspended indefinitely by Manchester United
Manchester United have suspended rising star player Mason Greenwood, indefinitely, after he spent his third night in jail.
The striker, 20, was re-arrested on suspicion of sexual assault and threats to kill after cops initially swooped on Sunday.
Greenwood, who earns £75K a week, was initially arrested by Greater Manchester Police officers on suspicion of rape and grievous bodily harm.
But on Tuesday night, he was re-arrested on a new charge of threat to kill.
Manchester United issued a fresh statement thereafter, putting Greenwood on indefinite suspension.
“Manchester United reiterates its strong condemnation of violence of any kind.
“As previously communicated, Mason Greenwood will not train with, or play for, the club until further notice,” said the club on their website.
