Lil Frosh, Naira Marley, Omah Lay & Other Nigerian Stars That Have Faced Jail Term

Nigerian singer Sanni Wasiu, popularly known as Lil Frosh, is the latest musician to be remanded at the Ikoyi Correctional Centre till 9 March 2021 over the alleged assault on his girlfriend, Gift Camille.

The budding rapper joined other stars that have had course to be in detention, he was invited by the police on Thursday, 4 February 2021, and has since remained in custody.

On Monday, 5 October 2020 Lil Frosh was accused of beating his girlfriend, Camille, on several occasions by the brother and manager of the victim.

Sequel to this revelation, superstar artist and record label owner Davido announced that Lil Frosh’s contract with DMW had been effectively terminated with immediate effect.

However, the rapper had on several occasions denied assaulting his girlfriend. Speaking on the Ionwannatalk podcast, Lil Frosh explained that she had a boil that plagued her for seven days. He further revealed that she had called him to explain that she had a boil, which he said could have been an allergy.

 

It will be recalled that, Naira Marley, Zlatan Ibile and  three others were arrested by the EFCC in 2019 in connection to their song together titled  ‘Am I A Yahoo Boy?’. A song adjudged to glorify internet fraud that landed them in trouble. Zlatan was released early but Naira Marley stayed for several months and faced the court.

Omah Lay and Tems too had their fair share of celebrity detention when they reportedly broke Covid 19 protocols in Uganda to stage a show in the African country, it took the intervention of industry heads to and important personalities to take them out of the trouble.
