I’m Sorry For Supporting A ‘Snake’ Against Man Of God In 2016 – Oshiomhole
Adams Oshiomhole, former national chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has apologised to the people of Edo State, for campaigning for governor Godwin Obaseki in 2016.
Oshiomhole, while addressing a crowd of party faithfuls at Iyamho in Etsako West Local Government Area of the state, apologised for judging Osagie Ize-Iyamu, whom he referred to as a man of God.
He said he wants to correct his mistake, by ensuring that Ize-Iyamu is elected governor, and Obaseki, whom he described as a snake, is kicked out of the government house on September 19.
The former APC chairman disclosed that he came from Abuja to fulfill the task, and would remain in the state until after the election, to ensure that it is done.
Oshiomhole noted that Ize-Iyamu ensured he emerged as governor in 2012, by campaigning for him in all the local government areas in the state.
“I made my mistakes by supporting a man who has no vision for my people and judged a pastor who genuinely loves his people, i am sorry… I apologise to Edo people and promise to correct my mistakes by making sure the servant of god pastor ize-iyamu is elected as governor and kick the snake out of the government house , from now till September 19th i am here in Edo State because a political lion that i am ,i am not scared of anything”, he said.
“The man (ize-iyamu) that is coming is not a stranger, he campaigned for me in 2012 and i won all 18 local government in Edo State, so he knows the roots unlike the current governor who just became governor and doesn’t know the efforts people made to make him governor.
“We would kick out this MOU governor and replace him with a pastor and sweep out the coronavirus party by the special grace of God”.
He added: “I told those who were being persecuted to take it easy, that they shouldn’t burn the house we all laboured to build because they want to smoke out the snake. But now, the snake has been smoked out of the house.
“Few weeks earlier, the snake said APC was his house and that he was not leaving, but less than 72 hours after saying this, he left.
“If we had burnt the house because the snake was giving us problem, we will all have been homeless by now”, he said.
“I came back home not to rest, but to work. We are political lion, we must commit ourselves to returning Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu to Osadebe Avenue.”
