I Left Tottenham Because Of Mourinho – Danny Rose
Tottenham Hotspur defender, Danny Rose, has claimed that Jose Mourinho is the reason why he left the club to join Newcastle United on loan.
Rose will play the remainder of the season at the Saint James’ Park, having joined them for the rest of the season last month.
According to Rose, Mourinho did not give him the same opportunity as other defenders at Spurs.
The 29-year-old only made just five appearances since Mourinho took over from Mauricio Pochettino last November.
“The manager [Mourinho] did not give me a lot of opportunities just like the rest of the players in the defense line,” Rose told told BBC Radio 5 Live.
“When Mourinho took charge after one month, I knew that was the end of me playing at Tottenham.
“It was hard for me to even train with the rest of the squad because I knew I would not feature in games.
“Well, I must give full respect to Mourinho because when he took charge, we were 12 points behind Chelsea, and now we are just four points adrift fourth-place Chelsea on the Premier League table.”
“I thought I would continue playing just like the player I was three years ago when I returned from injury, but it did not work out.”
