I Have ‘Perfect’ Relationship With Osinbajo – Buhari
President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, debunked insinuations of breakdown in relationship between him and his vice, Yemi Osinbajo.
There have been reports that the pair are enduring a sour working environment in Aso Rock.
The rumour was followed by the sacking of at least 38 aides in the vice president’s office by Buhari in 2019. The aides included senior special assistants, special assistants, personal assistants and technical assistants.
Prior to the sacking of the aides, the president had asked Osinbajo to seek presidential approvals for agencies under his supervision, and also moved the National Social Investment Programme (N-SIP) from his office to a new ministry.
Also, the Economic Management Team chaired by the vice president was dissolved and replaced with the Economic Advisory Council, placed under the direct purview of the president.
However, in an interview with The Interview magazine published online on Sunday, Buhari described his relationship with Osinbajo as “perfect”.
Asked to rate his relationship with his deputy on a scale of one to ten, Buhari responded:
“Perfect. Or has he complained ed to you.”
Buhari and Osinbajo were elected for second term in office in February, 2019, under the All Progressives Congress (APC).
