Governor Okowa, Wife Tested Positive For Covid 19
Ifeanyi Okowa, Governor of Delta State, and his wife, Edith, have tested positive for the novel coronavirus (COVID-19).
Governor Okowa confirmed this in a post on Twitter on Wednesday.
The governor stated that he and his wife are continuing their self-isolation as they commence treatment.
Governor Okowa and his wife have been self-isolating since last Friday following the confirmation that one of their daughters tested positive for the virus.
The Delta State Governor becomes the sixth state governor to have contracted COVID-19 after Seyi Makinde (Oyo), Bala Mohammed (Bauchi), Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna State), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia State) and Rotimi Akeredolu (Ondo).
Governors Makinde, Mohammed and El-Rufai have since recovered and been discharged, while Ikpeazu and Akeredolu are still in isolation.
