Goalkeeper Ederson Could Become Man City’s Penalty Taker – Guardiola

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has said goalkeeper Ederson could be considered as the club’s penalty taker.
This was after Ilkay Gundogan lost the chance to get the opener through a spot-kick against Liverpool on Sunday.

Gundogan, however, got a second chance through a tap-in after a rebound in the second half of the Premier League game.

The game ended 4-1 which was Guardiola’s first win at Anfield and Liverpool’s third consecutive home loss.

“Gundogan missed a penalty, it’s like a routine against them, but we started really really well, doing what we want to do,” Guardiola told BBC Sport.

Turning his attention to the penalty miss, Guardiola added: “It’s a problem that we have. In important moments, we cannot miss it, and it doesn’t matter the taker.

“Again, I’m going to think about Ederson, he might be the taker next time.”
