Manchester United have received a major boost as their defender Luke Shaw returned to training ahead of their Europa League clash with FCSB on Thursday.

The left back returned to group training at Carrington on Wednesday, before the Red Devils’ trip to Bucharest to take on FCSB in an away Europa League tie.

Shaw had sustained a minor injury setback before Man United played against Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium last December.

He had only just returned to contention after a long spell on the sidelines.

The Englishman had appeared as a substitute in Man United manager Ruben Amorim’s first three games in charge, against Ipswich Town, Bodo/Glimt, and Everton.

Just last week, Amorim suggested that Shaw would be managed carefully.

“He is going to be fit to train with the team,” Amorim said.

“Then we have to start with more minutes, we do not have a lot of time to train. We have to put some exercises in for 10 minutes, and then he has to do extra work to improve his fitness. I don’t know [when he will play]. It is two weeks to start training before I think about putting him in for some minutes.”
