EFCC arrests Ex-Zamfara Governor Yari
A former governor of Zamfara state, Abdulaziz Yari, is currently in the custody of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), according to Premium Times.
The online news medium reports that operatives of the EFCC are interrogating Yari over series of corruption allegations.
Sources who spoke to PT said the former governor is being held at the Sokoto office of the anti-graft agency where he is being grilled.
A source quoted in the report said:
“He honoured the invitation at the Sokoto office at about 11 a.m. on Tuesday. He has been offered bail, but he has not been able to meet the bail conditions.”
In a massive clampdown on top politicians, the anti-graft agency recently arrested a former governor of Imo state, Senator Rochas Okorocha.
He is facing charges of money laundering and abuse of office.
