COVID-19: Don’t Come To Our Lagos, Abuja Offices, CAC Tells Customers
The Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) has asked customers not to physically visit its office premises in Abuja and Lagos to carry out official transactions due to the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.
This directive was contained in a public notice posted on the commission’s Twitter handle on Thursday.
The CAC said customers will be required to send and receive documents from the commission through designated courier companies from August 10 to August 31, 2020.
It said this will help in controlling the number of persons in its offices while ensuring a convenient process for the accessibility of its services.
It promised to set up a mechanism to allow customers send and receive documents via email.
The statement read: “With this, the physical submission of original documents before collection of pre-incorporation certificates will be dispensed with.
“The documents uploaded online by the customer and approved for the registration would suffice.
“Customers should note that the new process has placed a responsibility on them to ensure that their documents are duly signed by the persons whose names appear therein in any transaction they present for filing.”
In a separate notice, the CAC said all pre-incorporation certificates will henceforth be delivered to customers by designated courier companies with effect from Friday, 24 July.
It added that customers are expected to hand over the original documents to the courier companies in exchange for the cerfificate.
