Bet Awards: Burna Boy Sets New Record After Winning His 4th ‘best International Act’
Nigerian music superstar, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has won the “Best International Act” award at the just concluded 2023 BET Awards held on Sunday, June 25, in Los Angeles, United States of America.
The several hits maker beat French singer Aya Nakamura, British superstars Ella Mai, Stormzy, Central Cee, and his compatriot, Ayra Starr to win the coveted prize.
With his latest victory, the African Giant crooner extended his record as the most awarded act in the BET Awards “Best International Act” category winning it for the fourth time.
Epiczone.ng recalls that Burna Boy won the award for three consecutive years in 2019, 2020 and 2021.
Since the invention of the BET Awards’ “Best International Act” category in 2018, it has been exclusively won by Nigerian superstars, with Davido being the first winner.
Nigerian female singer, Tems, won “Best International Act” last year.
Meanwhile, Nigerian rave of the moment, Asake lost the “Best New International” award to Cameroonian star, Libianca last night.
