Arsenal Open Mourizio Sarri Talks
Premier League giants Arsenal have entered talks over a deal to bring Maurizio Sarri back to the Premier League as Mikel Arteta’s replacement.
Football Italia reports that Arsenal have suddenly opened talks with Sarri who masterminded Chelsea’s win against them in the 2019 Europa League final.
The report adds that Sarri will replace the increasingly under-fire Arteta, who may be relieved of his duties after the 2020/21 season.
Arsenal are in danger of not qualifying for Europe next season due to their current lowly standing on the Premier League log.
They will hope to overturn a 2-1 deficit when they host Villarreal in the Europa League second leg semi-finals, ahead of a possible final showdown with rivals Manchester United.
Sarri left Chelsea after winning the Europa League and took charge at Juventus where he won the Serie A before he was fired in 2020 and replaced with Andrea Pirlo.
He has been unattached since leaving the Bianconnerri.
