Reconciliation: APC Caretaker Committee Members Visit Tinubu
Members of the Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) on Thursday met with Bola Tinubu, the National leader of the ruling party.
Mai Mala Buni, Chairman of the APC Caretaker Committee and Governor of Yobe State, and Abubakar Atiku Bagudu, Chairman of the Progressives Governors Forum (PGF) and Governor of Kebbi State, led the delegation to the Bourdillion residence of Tinubu in the Ikoyi, Lagos State.
Also at the meeting were Senator Akpan Udoedehe, Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee, and Abubakar Bello, Governor of Niger State and member of the committee.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Governor of Lagos State, also attended the meeting.
Speaking to journalists after the meeting, Tinubu, a former Lagos State governor, said the party leaders consulted with him on steps to move the party forward following the recent disagreements among some aggrieved members.
He, however, denied any report of differences or rancour in the APC, although he said there was no way there would not be dissent in a political association.
This is the first meeting that the caretaker committee has had with Tinubu since its inauguration following the dissolution of APC National Working Committee led by Adams Oshiomhole.
The former Lagos State governor had in a statement last Saturday expressed support for the formation of the caretaker committee and urged all aggrieved NWC members to accept the decision of the party’s National Executive Council (NEC).
