Edo Pastor Names Son After Godwin Obaseki
A pastor of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG) in Benin City has named his newly born son after the Edo State Governor, Mr. Godwin Obaseki.
Pastor Daniel Ekhator a.k.a Demon Destroyer, whose wife was delivered of a baby boy at about 3:45 a.m. this morning after 16 years of waiting, named his son GODWIN after Governor Godwin Obaseki in appreciation of his outstanding achievements over the last few years in Edo State.
He specifically praised the governor for what he described as his stellar accomplishments in various sectors across the state and his doggedness and resolute commitment to improving the welfare of the ordinary Edo man and woman in the face of opposition from some few self centred persons who care more of themselves rather than the collective interests of the people.
Pastor Ekhator saluted “the unusual courage of Governor Obaseki”, who has remained unfazed by attempts by the APC to deny him the chance to contest on its platform. He noted that “Edo people will support him to return for a second term against all odds and that unique trait of courage and resilience was what motivated him to name his son after the governor.”
Furthermore, Pastor Ekhator encouraged all Edo people “to unite and rally behind the governor as he seeks to return for a second term as he (Obaseki) is God-sent” – just like his son – “to help wipe away their tears of suffering and frustration.”
This will come as a welcome morale boost to the embattled governor who was recently disqualified from partaking in the primaries of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
