No Nigerian Players In CAF’s 2019 Best XI
No Nigerian player was considered good enough for the best eleven in Africa in the year 2019 as the Confederation of African Football (CAF) named its FIFPROAfrica XI.
Senegal, Africa Nations Cup finalists, had the most players on the list. Sadio Mane, Gana Gueye and Khalidou Koulibaly were all named on the team. Cameroon had two players – Joel Matip and goalkeeper Andre Onana. Cote d’Ivoire was represented by Serge Aurier while Morocco had Achraf Hakimi and Hakin Ziyech in the team.
Also named in the team are Gabon’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Egypt’s Mohamed Salah and Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez.
