Sadio Mane Wins 2019 African Player Of The Year Award
Senegalese international, Sadio Mane, has won the African Player of the Year Award for 2019.
The Liverpool forward beat club teammate, Mohamed Salah and Manchester City midfielder, Riyad Mahrez, to the award, which took place on Tuesday.
It is the first of the prestigious individual continental award for the former Southampton star, who helped Liverpool to the their sixth Champions League trophy, and Senegal to the final of the 2019 African Cup of Nations, where they lost 1-0 to Algeria.
The 27-year-old becomes the first Senegalese to win the award after El Hadji Diouf won it in 2001.
