Ira Youths Vanguard Writes Kwara Governor On Land Encroachment By President Tinubu’s ADC, Col. Nurudeen Yusuf

Seeks Intervention Against Communal Clash

The Ira Youths Vanguard, through its legal counsel, has written to notify the executive Governor of Kwara State and Chairman of Nigeria Governors’ Forum on the incessant encroachment on Ira land by neighbouring community.

The letter addressed to the Governor signed by the Chairman, Abdulkadri T Adewale and secretary, Ibikunle J Abioye detailed how President Tinubu’s ADC, Col Nurudeen is using the position to encroach land which belongs to Ira without consent, approval or agreeable terms and conditions between the communities.

As contained in the letter, the Youths vanguard noted how the ADC, Col. Nurudeen Yusuf, the king of Ilemona went to different portions of Ira’s land at Asaoye and Fere or Ira Fere in a brazen and provocative manner, cleared the land, drilled borehole, erected solar lights and built at the said Fere which is cradle of Ira community.

The Youths Vanguard also noted that it has written to the Oyun Local Government Chairman on the encroachment to avert communal crisis, while all the efforts made by the committee set up by Oyun Local Government proved abortive.

The Youth vanguard therefore charged Governor Abdulrahaman Abdulrasaq as a matter of urgency to intervene to avoid unnecessary tension and acrimony arising from the act of encroachment by the neighboring community using the influence of Government to abuse power.

“If not checked, it is capable of brewing Communal crisis between the two hitherto peaceful communities. This is the time to maintain or sustain peace in any part of Kwara State” The statement read.
