Christmas: Rep. Olusoji Adetunji Extends Greetings to Christians

As the nation embarks on the joyous celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ, a member of the House of Representatives, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji
has congratulated the Christian community in his federal constituency and Nigeria at large.

The lawmaker representing Odo-Otin/ Ifelodun Boripe federal constituency said despite the challenges bedeviling us as a nation, adherents of all faiths have cause to celebrate because we are alive and determined to overcome the challenges.

“Christmas reminds us of the Saviour who gives us salvation as contained in the book of Matthew 1: 23. So, Christmas should be celebrated to reflect the reasons Jesus came into our world.

“The birth of Jesus Christ signified the love of God for mankind, triumph of good over evil and the victory of light over darkness. So, Christians should use the opportunity of the season to reflect on the reasons for the birth of Christ and keep hope alive.

“Notwithstanding the difficult circumstances of the birth of Jesus Christ, his life remains today a perfect example for the world.

“I urge every constituent, residents of Osun and Nigerians at large to use the Yuletide to pray for the nation so that peace would continue to reign.”

While wishing Christians a happy celebration, Rep. Olusoji Adetunji who urged them to be guided by the teachings of Jesus Christ as contained in the Holy Bible, also called on Nigerians to celebrate the season in moderation.
