Tinubu’s Govt fully prepared to turn things around – Wike
Nigeria’s Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has again called on residents of Abuja to be calm and have patience with the Tinubu administration.
The former Rivers State governor spoke on Monday, July 29, while carrying out an inspection visit to the construction site of the nine-kilometre Paikon Kore-Ibwa rural road in Gwagwalada Area Council.
Wike expressed satisfaction with the pace and quality of work at the site.
He stated that the project was one of the roads that the president directed that must be completed in the satellite towns, stressing that the contractor has also promised to complete the road and hand it over by December this year.
According to him: “I’m very happy and the contractor has promised that by December, they would have completed and handed over. This is a nine-kilometre road.
“It’s interesting because this is one of the roads in the satellite towns that Mr President instructed must be completed.”
Wike also stated that the road project, when completed, will improve access to farmlands and markets in rural areas, adding that it will also help to address the challenges of food insecurity in the country.
He urged the communities around the area to be patient.
“I will continue to urge them to be calm, to be patient. This government is fully prepared to turn things around,” he said.
