We can fix Nigeria refineries within 1 year – Female engineers tell Tinubu
The Association of Professional Women Engineers of Nigeria (APWEN) has pleaded with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to allow female engineers to fix the country’s non-functional refineries.
The newly-elected APWEN Lagos Chapter Chairman, Mrs Atinuke Owolabi, made the plea on Saturday, August 19.
Her appeal came after the federal government’s pledged to revamp PortHarcourt, Warri and Kaduna refineries.
She assured the president that female engineers spread across the various arms of the profession could fix the moribund refineries within a year.
According to her:
“All women engineers are ready to come together and see how we can proffer solutions, ensuring we revamp these refineries”, he stated.
Politics Nigeria understands that Nigeria depends heavily on the importation of fuel to meet up with the country’s consumption demand.
