Obey Traffic Rules – IGP Egbetokun Orders Police Patrol Vehicles
As part of his efforts to ensure Nigerians are adequately protected in their country, the Acting Inspector General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, has ordered that all police patrol vehicles must obey traffic rules and regulations.
Egbetokun gave the order on Monday, June 26, at the Force Headquarters in Abuja, during a strategic meeting with Squadron Commanders of the Police Mobile Force, PMF, and Special Protection Unit, SPU.
Speaking during the meeting, the new police chief stressed that the maintenance of law and order and the protection of lives, properties are the main responsibilities of the police.
The IGP said that the Police officers must strictly adhere to the code of conduct of the Police and conduct themselves in a manner that would command them respect from the public.
He also charged the force to tackle banditry, kidnapping, insurgency and other security threats affecting the country.
