‘I Hold You In High Esteem Forever’ – Osimhen Pens Emotional Tribute To Gattuso
Nigerian international Victor Osimhen has penned a heartfelt message to former Napoli manager Gennaro Gattuso.
Napoli fired Gattuso on Sunday night following their 1-1 home draw against Hellas Verona that put paid to their ambition of playing in the UEFA Champions League next season as they were leapfrogged by Juventus into a top four finish.
Gattuso, who was instrumental in Osimhen’s arrival at the club last summer spent one year and half at the club, after replacing Carlo Ancelotti.
And Osimhen was full of praise for the Italy World Cup winner, saying he’d be forever grateful to him.
“You have been instrumental towards my development,” Osimhen wrote. “Not just as a player but also as a man,” Osimhen, 22, wrote on Instagram.
“I really appreciate all you do for me on and off the pitch, I admired you as a player and to be able to work under you and call you my BOSS is something I will never forget in a rush.
“I hold you on high esteem forever. I wish you all the very best on your new adventure BOSS.”
Gattuso has since been announced as coach of Serie A outfit Fiorentina, so he and Osimhen have definitely not seen the last of each other.
