Buhari Meets Northern Govs in Aso Rock
The President, Maj. Gen Muhammadu Buhari (retd) on Thursday met with some Northern Governors at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa, Abuja.
The delegation was led by chairman of Northern Governors Forum, Gov Simon Lalong of Plateau State.
Others in attendance at the emergency meeting are Governors Atiku Bagudu (Kebbi); Nasir El-Rufai (Kaduna); Mai Mala Buni (Yobe); Abubakar Bello (Niger) and Abdullahi Sule (Nasarawa).
The meeting comes against the backdrop of insecurity sweeping through the region and secessionist threats form the southern part of the country.
It also comes amid concerns the nation’s coffers are going dry following dwindling oil revenues and the ravages of the Coronavirus Pandemic.
