Mike Okri Bounces Back With Self-Titled EP
Veteran highlife musician, Mike Okri, is set to release his self-titled EP as he bids to make a return to the music milieu after a prolonged hiatus.
The EP is solely produced by the singer under his Mike Okri Entertainment Company.
Mike Okri dominated the Nigerian music scene in the late 1980s and early 1990s with hits songs like Rhumba Dance, Time Na Money, Okpeke, Wisdom, Oghenekevwe, and many others.
Mike Okri however left the country for over two decades and didn’t quite match the level of success back home.
In a statement about his new project, Mike Okri EP, he said it can be “likened to a profoundly beautiful piece of art on canvas, blended in the uniqueness of Afrohigh-life and western style. Mike’s music has strong musical lyrics in simple poetry. The music uplifts and heals the human spirit. An original Mike Okri trademark, it is backed by rhythm, harmony and soul which is called, ‘afro-mystic-soul’”.
This will be the fifth album of the multiple award winning singer after works like Concert Fever, Rhumba Dance, Cracks and Rhythmysticals.
